HM2
HM2 is a new commercial property lease on the corner of Mitchellsgade and Kalvebod Brygge, providing a striking architectural profile to the area around Kalvebod Brygge together with other prestigious new buildings such as Nykredit's Krystallen (the Crystal) and the new head office of SEB Pension.
Creating life and activity in the neighbourhood
The common denominator of these new projects is that they interact
with their neighbourhood and contribute to creating life and
activity for the benefit and enjoyment of companies, citizens and
the urban environment in general. The ground floor of HM2 will be
open to the general public with restaurants and shops, and the
building completes the new square named Under
Krystallen which connects HM2 and Krystallen through
the reflection and mist of water.
Strong visual transition between old and new
Also with the actual architecture of the structure,
Dissing+Weitling has focused on engaging with the surroundings. The
building is made up of three units which with their separate
qualities create the impression of a complete high-rise. In this
way and with sloping roof surfaces of varying height, HM2 has a
strong visual connection with the original high-rise buildings in
the area around Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. At the same time, the glass
frontage and other high-tech materials of HM2 produce a transition
to the new architecture of the area with its stand-alone
buildings.
