AB6 - Multi-tennant Ofice Complex
At Amager Boulevard no. 6 the last available site in Central
Copenhagen's new Tøjhus area, Dissing+Weitling has designed a
six-storey multi-flexible office complex.
As one of the first in Denmark, the building utilises an
interactive, double-skin facade providing efficient temperature
control while allowing maximum daylight - which will considerably
reduce energy consumption in the complex. The facade will also
afford those working in the offices unique acoustic protection
against traffic noise from busy Amager Boulevard.
The facade solution will add a transparent, aesthetic quality to
the building, its combination of glass and natural stone visually
linking and bringing together the large glass buildings and the
brick facades of the older, residential complexes on either side of
it.
The new office complex is in the basic shape of a cube with deep
indents inviting light and open, outdoor spaces far into the
building in the form of atria, patios and courtyards. It has been
designed with an emphasis both on creating soft transitions between
exterior and interior, activity and recreation and on affording
individual lessees optimum flexibility.
