New Managing Director at Dissing+Weitling

With effect from April 1, 2009, Dissing+Weitling has appointed Lars Søndergaard, M.Sc. (econ.), as managing director.

Lars Søndergaard comes from a position of financial manager in listed software company, Mondo, before which he was financial director and managing director of design company, By Malene Birger A/S, and CFO of listed company, Danware. Lars Søndergaard has also held several leading positions with Bang & Olufsen A/S, and has concurrently lectured on strategy and corporate development at Copenhagen Business School in the capacity of external associate professor.

For Dissing+Weitling the decision to appoint Lars Søndergaard was a natural consequence of the company’s business development.
‘In recent years we have been undergoing an internationalisation process to equip the company to meet the increasing, global competition. Our focus has been on
finding a managing director with broad managerial experience and a knowledge of and insight into the management of creative companies.  Lars Søndergaard has a strong profile for this position, and we are looking forward to having him as Dissing+Weitling’s managing director,’ says the company’s chairman, Niels Oluf Kyed.

The appointment of Lars Søndergaard dovetails naturally with the decision of architect and partner Pouli Hoffgaard Møller – after 26 years with the design office, seven as its managing director – to retire from the company and seek new challenges.

For Dissing+Weitling partners, Daniel V. Hayden, Steen Savery Trojaborg and Stig Mikkelsen, the decision to seek the profile of the new managing director outside the world of architecture was an obvious step in the company’s internationalisation process, and they look forward with great confidence to working with Lars Søndergaard.
