New joint emergency ward for Kolding Hospital, Denmark

DISSING+WEITLING architecture has prequalified to compete for a 28,000 m2 emergency ward for Kolding Hospital.

The prequalification has been awarded to a strong consortium which – in addition to DISSING+WEITLING – consists of Norwegian Medplan arkitekter and the large British engineering company Buro Happold. The consortium will collaborate with a number of consultants to create an optimum working environment and a professional and friendly place to visit in the case of acute injury or illness.

The Kolding Hospital is part of Sygehus Lillebælt (Lillebaelt Hospital) which also comprises the hospitals in Vejle, Give, Fredericia and Middelfart.
