Dissing+Weitling among winners of Sunshine House competition

The Dissing+Weitling team has won a competition to design a sustainable development project, Sunshine House, and will build three prefab test houses complying with the “Passive House” standard.  The Sunshine House – initiated by the Technological Institute of Denmark, Nordicom and the Knowledge Centre for Industrial Building (VIB) – will be the first Danish passive house developed as an industrialised product adaptable to different users and locations. The Dissing+Weitling design proposal, EverHouse, was developed in collaboration with Gitte Juul Arkitekter, KLH Scandinavia AB and Battle‑McCarthy Ltd. A total of four design proposals were selected; the resulting houses will be built in the undulating landscape south of Kolding and will be ready for exhibition in time for the Climate Change Conference in 2009.
