DISSING+WEITLING architecture was the project architect in the design competition for the 16 km link across the Yangtze River.
The link included two cable-stayed bridges with 500 and 2000 meter main spans. The scheme was awarded the 1st prize in the competition but it was later decided to replace the larger cable stayed bridge with an immersed tunnel.
