Poole Harbour Crossing
While touted as one of the largest natural harbours in the world, the shallow waters of Holes Bay are navigable only by smaller craft and leisure boats. The design of this award-winning delicate multi-span cable-stayed bridge was due in part to this absence in risk of ship collision. The slender steel pylons are anchored to the abutments by a set of top stays provide stability and stiffness to the structure as well as simplifying construction of the bridge.
Poole Harbour-broen
