Problem or potential? Urban densification on the agenda at DAC tomorrow

As part of the Copenhagen Architecture Festival, the Van Alen Institute International Council and the Danish Architecture Centre present the panel discussion “DRAWING INTERSECTIONS | VISIONS FOR DENSITY IN ARCHITECTURE” – an evening of conversation, presentation, questions, and ideas about how to create desirable and vibrant dense neighborhoods, in Europe and beyond.

In world of booming populations, what role do architects play in drafting innovative opportunities for density in our cities? How can architects make density desirable to all citizens? Furthermore, what “tricks of the trade” can architects use to add density in historic neighborhoods where new construction is impossible?

At tomorrow’s panel discussion at DAC, you can hear how a number of leading Danish architects tackle these questions. Representatives from Henning Larsen Architects, BIG, 3XN along with Tina Saaby - Chief Urban Designer of City of Copenhagen - and DISSING+WEITLING’s CEO, Steen Savery Trojaborg are among the speakers.

The event is free and open to the public, but you need to register.
