Køge gangbro

Køge gangbro er en del af den ambitiøse havneudvidelse som kommunen iværksatte i 2006. DISSING+WEITLING architecture har designet broen der med karakter af en moderne byport leder fodgængere og cyklister i en let bue over Værftsvej og forbinder byen med lystbådehavnen.

Broen krydser den primære indfaldsvej til Køge Havn der er en af de travleste danske containerhavne i Østersøregionen. Den er derfor forsynet med et 12 m langt løftefag til gavn for den ekstra høje specialtransport som 2-3 gange om året forventes at passere på vej til havnen.

Belysningen er integreret i rækværkets ekstruderede aluminiumsprofil hvilket - især om aftenen - bidrager til det samlede indtryk af broens lette struktur.

 

Køge footbridge

When Køge municipality undertook a scheme for their ambitious harbour extension in 2006, it entrusted DISSING+WEITLING architecture with the infrastructural design of the new access roads to the harbour area.

Apart from the client's demand to aesthetics and comfort for future users there were also special parameters cut out with regard to the functional aspects of the bridge.Not only was the bridge to become a gateway to the city, but furthermore it would be crossing the main thoroughfare to Køge Port, being one of Denmark's most important cargo hubs servicing the Baltic Sea region.

The bridge had to answer to the Port Authorities demand for a structure that would not hinder access to HGVs or special goods transports to the Port. Thus the bridge had to have the ability to open.The opening feature is simply solved by allowing the middle section of 12m to be removed by crane. This will occur at most 2-3 times a year.

Lighting is integrated into the handrail of the parapet, an extruded aluminum profile, offering comfort as an armrest as well as contributing to a feeling of security and sturdiness of this light structure.
